Mouth cancer is otherwise referred to as oral cavity cancer. It arises when cancerous cells start growing excessively in a person’s mouth.

It is deadly cancer and if not attended to early enough like every other cancer, it has the possibility of causing fatality.

So, for the purpose of enlightenment, we are going to have a look at some of the early signs of mouth cancer that should not be ignored.

If you start experiencing some of these signs, do well to see a doctor to be sure you are not suffering from oral cancer or to confirm your status.

1A lip or mouth wound that doesn’t heal. Mouth sores or wounds often heal fast but if you suddenly notice a long-lasting sore that appears not to be healing as expected, do well to see a doctor as that is one sign of mouth cancer.

2. A whitish or reddish patch inside the mouth. If you start seeing whitish or reddish patches inside your mouth, then do well to go for a checkup because it’s never due to good reasons.

3. A growth of Lump inside your mouth; this is another sign of oral cancer that should not be taken for granted.

Since cancer has to do with the growth of abnormal cells in the mouth, one of the signs is the formation of a lump in the mouth.

4. Ear Pain; is perhaps the most evident sign of oral cancer that everyone should take seriously.

The reason is that the ear is connected to the mouth and as such when a person is suffering from oral cancer, one compulsory sign is ear pain.

The constant unexplained ear pain should be checked out.

5. Difficulty Swallowing Food; this is another sign of mouth cancer.

If you start finding it difficult to swallow food and things, then there is a chance you are having oral cancer or some other problem that needs to be checked out.
